Have you lost yourself in being a WAHM? How to make yourself a priority and be more than a mom

Hey Mama, are you constantly juggling multiple roles - being a mother, a spouse, and running your own business - while forgetting to take care of your own needs?

It's time to change that narrative and make yourself a priority again.

In this blog, we'll dive into the importance of valuing your self-worth and explore some practical tips to put yourself first without sacrificing motherhood and feeling guilty.

When I became a mom, I believed the misconception that sacrifices were inevitable. I gave up things I loved, like my sports car and salon visits, thinking that being a good mom meant putting my needs aside.

However, I later learned the hard way that prioritizing myself was crucial for my happiness and confidence.

So let's save you the tears and drama and maybe learn a thing or two from my own...maybe... but to be safe, why don't you get a fresh cup of coffee before we get too far.

The Brain Dump Exercise:

To start this journey of self-prioritization, let's do a brain dump. Write down all the things you sacrificed for motherhood.

Acknowledge your feelings without being resentful or angry, but instead, use this as a step towards positive change.

Select one thing that used to make you feel like more than just a mom. It could be getting your nails done, reading a book, or simply having some time to yourself. Then, make a commitment to do it.

Schedule it on your calendar and communicate your intentions to your spouse, seeking their support in holding you accountable.

Accepting Change:

Understand that priorities change as your life evolves. Embrace these changes from a place of acceptance rather than fear or obligation.

You can still be a loving mother, a successful business owner, and a cherished spouse while taking care of your own needs. Yes, it is possible, so don't roll your eyes at me, mama, it just takes practice and giving yourself permission.

So give yourself that permission slip already!

Value Yourself:

Repeating positive affirmations can help you recognize your worth and importance. Remind yourself daily that you are deserving of time for self-care and personal growth.

I personally prefer to say my affirmations out loud to myself instead of writing them down. They hold so much more power when you say them out loud, and it helps to shut that negative voice in your head up! Because let's be honest, that negative, nagging (insert your choice name) has got to go. We are giving her her eviction notice!

Building Consistency:

After experiencing the joy of prioritizing yourself, continue this journey of self-discovery. Regularly schedule time for self-care and try different activities that bring you happiness and relaxation.

Then, rinse, lather, and repeat Mama until it becomes second nature!

Joining a Supportive Community:

You don't have to do this alone. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who are also striving to prioritize themselves. Consider joining a supportive community where you can share experiences, encourage one another, and celebrate the progress made.

Hey mama, you deserve to be a priority. Making time for yourself is not selfish; it's an essential part of being a happy and fulfilled mother, spouse, and business owner.

Embrace the changes, value yourself, and make consistent efforts to prioritize your needs.

Remember, you are already a great mom, and taking care of yourself will only make you even better. Cheers to rediscovering yourself and finding joy in motherhood and beyond!
